Translation of documents
In Germany, only officially recognized translators, certified or sworn before the court and who have passed the state translation examination or who studied at a university, can formally work in the profession.
Authentication of translations is often required for official purposes, such as translation of birth/death/marriage certificates, excerpts from the commercial register, partnership agreements and divorce decrees.
The sworn translator confirms by his/her authentication the accuracy of the translation using a certifying formula, his/her signature and a certifying stamp.
